| no partners | | Celebrated my 66th with a 7 day hiking trip to a few summits in Lake Tahoe area.
45 miles, 11071' AEG for the week (rough est from my GPS).
Itinerary:
8/15/15: Freel Peak - 10881' (10 miles rt, 2545' AEG)
8/16/15: Mt Rose (NV) - 10776' (10 miles rt, 1828' AEG)
8/17/15: Granite Chief - 9006' (4.5 miles tot, 1000' AEG) [partial gondola assist]
8/18/15: Monument Peak - 10067' (4 miles tot, 400' AEG) [partial gondola assist]
8/19/15: Mt Harrahs (NV) - 6310' (0.1 miles tot, 0' AEG) [hydraulic lift assist]
8/20/15: Round Top - 10381' (6 miles tot, 2100' AEG)
8/21/15: Mt Tallac - 9735' (9.5 miles rt, 3250' AEG)
Great trip for me - I held up much better than I thought I would and got stronger as the week progressed (well - one day excepted). Round Top was the best day - firing on all cylinders. Reminded me of the old days (kinda / sorta).
Weather was perfect except for haze on the last day which was a shame because Tallac has about the best Lake Tahoe views available.
Good fortune to meet HAZer Beiley on top of Freel Peak. He was section hiking the Tahoe Rim Trail with a buddy. HAZers are everywhere.
