| no partners | | Came back close to one year after descending Motorcycle Canyon as my first technical canyon (9 Jan 2015). It felt really different this time around, just because of so much more experience with rappelling, down climbing, etc. With better perspective, I think this makes a good 2nd or 3rd canyon for a beginner - no tricky starts but a variety of rappel types, and also plenty of varied down climbing to improve confidence. It's also just a darn pretty canyon, so easy for all to enjoy.
We met up with another group descending the canyon on this day, so ended up with a pretty large group. Good to meet some more of the local canyoneers.
The highlight was seeing a large herd of 10-15 bighorn on the short approach hike. |
