I planned to drive the same path as ASUAviator, with a couple extra stops along the way.
I hit Bloody Basin Rd around 5:30am. My planned first stop was Sycamore Trail #503. I arrived at the trail head around 7:30am. It was a quick 80 minute 2.96 mile round trip hike.(http://hikearizona.com/x.php?I=4&ZTN=17123&UID=41752) The dogs and I got back in the truck and headed for the next stop, Verde Rim trail to Pine Mount. So far the trip was going better than expected. ...... Driving to the Verde Rim Trail was very slow going. Slower than I expected. I decided not to hike to Pine Mountain, and to keep on driving to my next stop. The next stop was the Verde Hot Springs. Around 10:30am I came across something I wasn't expecting. The rim. The views where amazing. Over the next 7 miles, you loose around 3400ft down to the river. This is the only section of the trip you have to worry about scratching your vehicle from bushes. Very slow going on this section. Finally we arrive at the Verde. The dogs and I hiked to Verde Hot Springs and hung out for a few minutes.(http://hikearizona.com/trip=100520) We got back in the truck and made our way back home.

The route is definitely a 4x4 high clearance route. I tried to take some pictures of the road conditions along the way..
