Tracey had this one on our list for a while and since my only Supes Ridgeline hike was way back in 2006 we figured it was about time for it. It had been some time for Gabriele as well so when our schedules aligned and it was cool enough for Gabriele we didn't waste time getting it done.

At 6:30 am we met Gabriele at the McKellips TH and she drove us over to Carney. We were on the trail a good 15 minutes before sunrise and with a stiff breeze it was a bit chilly. But after the short warm-up to the fence line we began the climb in earnest and made it to West Boulder Canyon saddle by 8:35.

Our short BR and snack break at the saddle turned out to take a bit longer than expected due to me losing my glasses. I took them off to remove the now-wet extra layers and when we were ready to set out again they were nowhere to be found. After 7+ minutes of Tracey emptying out my whole pack (you found what in there!??) and all of us looking several times in the only area I could have left them they were eventually found... probably less than a foot from where I left them. It was so windy they were blown off the rock I set them on and they dropped into a bush. Good thing it didn't take any longer to find them as it was COLD and windy and Gabriele was about to turn around to a warm car. But Tracey wouldn't go along with that and majority rules so we continue. Ok, enough drama for today! We're back on the trail again.

Rather than write a looong triplog, I'll just state the obvious... the weather was perfect, the company was great and of course the scenery was AWESOME!
:y:

The best part is I feel great after the grueling hike... surprisingly much better than my first ridge line when I was 6 years younger. Or maybe I simply don't listen anymore to my joints when they complain... and just zone it out so I can enjoy the hikes more.

Oh yeah, we met, got passed by, passed, got passed, passed, ad infinitum another HAZ'er and a friend of his. Gabriele will have to mention who it is because whether names or screen names, this old mind of mine seems to lose information like that as fast as it comes in. Great to meet them and thanks to Tracey and Gabriele for a wonderful hike! :thanx:
