Short Walk, Long Story by The_Eagle  This short, easy hike loops through an open desert area, a short drive from the Verde Valley Archaeology Center in Camp Verde. At just about 0.5 miles round trip, the Native American Heritage Pathway offers more than just a walk—it’s a journey through ancient history.The trail follows a flat, well-marked path with a series of signs and exhibits that highlight the lives of the early people who lived here over 1,500 years ago. Along the way, if you keep an eye out, you’ll see the outline of an excavated pit house, possible future replicas of native dwellings, and a thriving heritage garden growing traditional crops like corn, squash, and agave.
