Oasis of Mara is a 0.55 mile round trip hike with 10 feet accumulated elevation gain. Located 37 miles northeast of Palm Springs California. The trailhead is car accessible. November and February are the best months to enjoy this hike.

Overview: Short paved lasso-loop nature walk introduces an oasis habitat used extensively by early residents in the area.

    To hike
    From LA take I-10 exit 117 to CA-62 and go to Twentynine Palms. Turn right on Utah Trail. Follow the sign to Oasis visitor center half mile south.

    From Phoenix take I-10 exit 168 (Cottonwood Spring Rd) and drive through Joshua Tree NP to Twentynine Palms. Follow the sign to Oasis visitor center half mile before you reach CA-62.

    Trailhead is on the back of Oasis visitor center.
