This trail provides "easy" access to 2 of Southern Nevada's highest peaks - Charleston and Griffith Peaks. A lot of effort is needed to make the climb, but the trail is a good one and the views from the top are well worth it. Can be hiked as an out-and-back or a loop by connecting with one of several other trails.

Check out the Official Route and Triplogs.

    Note
This is a difficult hike. Arrive fit and prepared or this could get ugly.
Leave No Trace and +Add a Triplog after your hike to support this local community.

    Paved - Car Okay

    To hike
From Las Vegas, drive north on I-95. Turn west (left) on NV-157/Lee Canyon Road. Drive past the FS visitor's center and continue on Lee Canyon Road until it makes a big hairpin turn to the left. This turn is signed, follow the sign for South Loop Trail. Either park at the Cathedral Rock trailhead for free or drive up to the picnic area and pay to park in the lot nearer the South Loop trailhead. If you park in the free parking, just walk a few hundred meters up the road to the trailhead.

Be sure to verify the time the gate gets locked if you park in the picnic area, or you might spend an unexpected night in your car.
