    FR / Jeep Road - Car possible when dry

    To hike
    Take US-60 East to Superior, turn right onto AZ-177 and go south 9.6 miles to North Battle Axe Rd. (Note: The exit to the right comes up fast as you're climbing a hill and rounding a bend to the left) Follow North Battle Axe Road 1.9 miles then make a sharp right turn. Continue along this road 3.5 miles and turn left onto the unmarked Walnut Canyon Road. Continue on this road .2 mile to a wide flat area just south below Battle Axe Butte, which is the trailhead.
