     Directions
    or
     Road
    Strictly 4x4

    To hike
Travel south of Phoenix via AZ 347 south through Maricopa, then west on AZ 84. Head west on I-8 for about 14.9 miles to the old abandoned hamlet of Big Horn. The destination will be a left turn off of I-8, but there is a crossover here. Alternatively, head south of Phoenix on AZ 85 to Gila Bend, then head east on I-8 for 17.0 miles. Big Horn will be on your right. Go south on BLM road 8011, passing through a gate just off I-8. Keep driving south on 8011 this road until it intersects BLM road 8015, which should come shortly after a major wash crossing. Turn left (SE) onto BLM 8015 and stay on this until you reach the road's end. You'll enter Area A of the Goldwater Range within the Sonoran Desert National Monument about 5 miles in (Gate 7A), beyond which you'll need your BMGR/CPNWR permit.
