Pony Express Trail Lower is a 2.75 mile one way hike with 1,132 feet elevation gain. Located 14 miles south-southwest of Carson City Nevada. The trailhead is car accessible. April and October are the best months to enjoy this hike.
Originally the Pony Express trail, later to become Kingsbury Grade, now replaced by the new Kingsbury Grade. This trail follows the old roadbed, starting off as pavement and ending up as a single track near its terminus.
