Overview: This is the only section of the Tahoe Rim Trail that allows motor vehicles. 4 X 4, atv, motorcycle, snowmobiles, hiking and mountain biking is allowed any day of the week. There is a separate single track Tahoe Rim Trail that runs thru this section that allows only hikers and mountain bikers seven days a week.

    The trailhead is located at Spooner Summit on US. highway 50 west of Carson City. Access is on the south side of the road on a frontage just west of highway 28 between the fire station and department of transportaion highway department.
