The Ray Miller Trail is the western most segment of the Backbone Trail which traverses the length of the Santa Monica Mountains. This section begins at La Jolla Canyon and rise up to where it merges with the Overlook Trail. Much of the trail has spectacular views of the Pacific Ocean.

To hike
Take Pacific Coast Highway to the La Jolla Canyon entrance to Point Mugu State Park. Park on the shoulder of PCH as the parking within the La Jolla Canyon parking area is reserved for group camping. A little warning is that a few of my friends have had their cars broken into when parked here. Don't leave any valuables in your car.
