  Likely In-Season!
Broken Hill is not a peak to come to Colorado for. But rather it's an extra summit to hike while you are in the area. From the pass between Broken Hill and Matterhorn it's all off trail. The North face of Broken hill looks intimidating and impossible to do without ropes, as the peak is guarded by a 50 foot cliff face. Although the West side of the peak provides a short steep loose climb to the top. The view from the top provides a great view of Uncompahgre, Wetterhorn, and Matterhorn.

Getting to the saddle either involves (preferably) hiking up from Matterhorn Creek Trail Head, or starting at Nellie Creek Trail Head. This peak is best hiked in the same day alongside with one of the other peaks in the area.

    To hike
This Peak is best reached from Lake City, although Engineer Pass coming from Silverton is another way to get here. Since this is a bonus peak, instructions are not going to be provided. This peak is done alongside with a trip up Wetterhorn and Uncompahgre. Follow the directions to either Matterhorn Creek or Nellie Creek.
