A patrol volunteer at Daley Ranch is to be "the eyes and ears for the rangers." Patrol volunteers are screened by the City (fingerprints, background check) and the volunteer is required to take a CPR/first aid class at the fire department and receives training at the Parks department.
A popular hiking park owned by the City of Escondido, Daley Ranch has an interesting history as a working ranch up until the 1980's, when the area was saved from becoming a large housing development.
