Hutch mountain lookout is an easy road walk from the gate to the fire lookout at the summit. The peak is also a SOTA peak

Check out the Official Route and Triplogs.

Gate Policy: If a gate is closed upon arrival, leave it closed after you go through. If it is open, leave it open. Leaving a closed gate open may put cattle in danger. Closing an open gate may cut them off from water. Please be respectful, leave gates as found.

Leave No Trace and +Add a Triplog after your hike to support this local community.

    Nice weekend trip here. Aspens changing color and fresh autumn air.

    There's a new gate on the road, a first-class forest campground style bathroom at the peak, and a non-potable water well with a hand pump that was working very productively.

    This rarely visited gem is just over a mile off AZT 29.

    Aspens were half green, and half fallen already. Didn't look too healthy. Wind or drought may be playing a factor here.
