Overview: This completely off-trail, out & back hike first follows a use route/fire suppression break, then traverses a rather steep, loose-rocky middle section prior to gaining the summit of this "mesa top" Carr Mountain at 7630 feet (also a Summits on the Air- SOTA peak #W7A/GI-001).

Warning: This Sierra Ancha Mountains summit and perimeter has very few locations for viewing scenic distant areas with a large portion of the mesa top, north, and west sections being very prone to fire-lighting strikes. It is not recommended to do this hike during the Arizona Monsoon Season months of late June, July, and August.
