Author Full Detail Guide
Buck Mountain L.O. CNF 7571 is a 1.1 mile round trip hike with 270 feet accumulated elevation gain. Located 39 miles south-southeast of Flagstaff Arizona. May and September are the best months to enjoy this hike.

Buck Mountain is a Fire Lookout hill in the Coconino NF. The tower itself looks kind of run down and rickety. There is a road that leads to the Tower. Take the road up and then you can run down the hill to where you park at the locked gate. This is a 10 point SOTA peak

Check out the Official Route.

Gate Policy: If a gate is closed upon arrival, leave it closed after you go through. If it is open, leave it open. Leaving a closed gate open may put cattle in danger. Closing an open gate may cut them off from water. Please be respectful, leave gates as found.

Leave No Trace and +Add a Triplog after your hike to support this local community.
