Canyons are inherently risky. Flash floods occur without notice on sunny days. Technical skills & surrounding topography knowledge required yet does not eliminate risk.

Overview
Middle Oak Canyon - Ouray is a 4 mile round trip canyon trip with 900 feet accumulated elevation gain. Located 33 miles south-southeast of Montrose Colorado. August and September are the best months to enjoy this activity. This hike involes off trail navigation. Review triplogs, photos and the route to understand the terrain before heading out.

3CIII Canyoneering trip through Middle Oak Creek, rappels to 80 ft. May be combined with Lower Oak Creek. Exit at Lower Oak Creek drop in.

Be careful of rappelling in high flow waterfalls, it can be dangerous if you are not prepared. I would advise against beginners doing this canyon. You will need a wetsuit.
