To hike From Phoenix, south on I-10 to the AZ 347 exit. ~14 miles to third light in Maricopa. (Not counting lights along the highway.) Right at the Circle K / AZ 238. Beware, speed limit is 40 MPH for several miles out of town. In ~23 miles, just before MM17, turn right into the large dirt parking area. Note that as of 2014, it is illegal to drive further on FR 8002 due to desert restoration.
