Expand MapHike up the liberty bell trail and take a left at the junction for the mine.

The liberty bell trail is pretty steep. It follows along Cornet Creek. The mine appears to be the source of the creek. If you go right at the junction you are on the access trail to Mendota Peak. The junction is not marked.
