This hike is a short excursion up a small canyon through old growth redwood. The trail looks like it used to go farther up, but a monster log across the trail and what looks like debris from a flood end your fun about .40 mile in. The forest has some open areas that are very pretty.

    To hike
Take US Hwy 101 25 miles south from Crescent City, CA to the Newton B. Drury SCenic Parkway (Exit 765). Take the Drury Parkway south for 8 miles to the signed trail head on the east (left) side of the road. There are a number of other signs marking trail heads and named old growth redwood groves so good luck. They're also worth checking out.
