During WWII, a U.S. Army training facility was constructed to train the 10th Mountain Division. At it's zenith, 15000 soldiers were housed and trained at Camp Hale learning the finer details of mountain climbing, downhill skiing, cross-country skiing, and polar-weather survival. Camp Hale was decommissioned in November 1945.
One-Way NoticeThis hike is listed as One-Way. When hiking several trails on a single "hike", log it with a generic name that describes the hike. Then link the trails traveled, check out the example. |
