Shorten the Loop
by AZWanderingBear

The Sonoran Preserve North has seen some trail development in the eastern end lately with the Apache Wash Loop, Badger Brawl, Esplanade and Cliff Walk Trails. Several connector trails provide multiple options for loops and better access.

There are now two connectors along new Apache Wash Loop.

This description is for the southern most of the two connectors.

The Apache Wash Loop follows the Apache Wash NE from the Apache Wash Trailhead. The southern connector is 1.2 miles from the trailhead on the western arm of the Apache Wash Loop and reconnects with the eastern leg of the Loop approximately 1.45 miles from the trailhead. This short trail is fairly flat. It crosses a small wash near the eastern end and reconnects with the western arm of the Loop at the Apache Wash near the Boscoe Tank. Besides being useful to shorten the Apache Wash Loop, this connector can provide access to the Sidewinder Trail from the eastern arm of the Apache Wash Loop.

Just a reminder: There is no water along this trail, or at the Apache Wash Trailhead.
