Steep climb on an 1800's mining trail, with sections that were literally blasted into cliff faces high above Bear Creek. Passes through two old mining camps with rusted equipment and rustic buildings. Links to other trails that continue up to Engineer Pass or further into Uncompahgre Wilderness.
Check out the Triplogs. NoteThis is a more difficult hike. It would be unwise to attempt this without prior experience hiking. One-Way NoticeThis hike is listed as One-Way. When hiking several trails on a single "hike", log it with a generic name that describes the hike. Then link the trails traveled, check out the example. |
