Camp Grasshopper - Sierra Ancha - FR203A is a 5.5 mile one way car camp trip. Located 54 miles east-northeast of Mesa Arizona. October and April are the best months to enjoy this trip.

5.5 miles drive up and just off FR203A from the Cherry Creek Road (FR203) intersection and less than one-half mile drive further up FR203A from the Bull Canyon TH is this recommended, but very exposed, high-clearance vehicle, rocky, primitive vehicle and tent campsite (a maximum of 1 to 2 flat ground tent areas with an additional 1-2 vehicle camping areas).

Full day sun and wind exposure at this 5k' elevation campsite area with very scenic 360 degree near and distant Sierra Ancha Wilderness views to help makekup for its lack of other amenities.

Check out the Official Route.

Dress for the current and unexpected weather changes. Take plenty of water. Never go alone. Make an itinerary with your plan(s), route(s), destination(s) and expected return time.
