The Yellow Mountain Trail located in the Nantahala National Forest offers a forested hike that leads to the summit of Yellow Mountain at roughly 5,100 ft. You'll find an old fire lookout tower with outstanding views. The tower has been decommissioned for some time. This hike is listed as an out and back and starts from a small parking area with room for a handful of cars.
