Silver Mountain is a basalt dome independent of any mountain range in Michigan's Upper Peninsula with an elevation of just over 1,300 feet. It is an excellent hiking and climbing destination. There is a short, but steep hiking trail to the summit that includes 250 stairs and some excellent climbing can be found on the improbable 140 basalt cliff face that comprises the volcanic dome's headwall.
One-Way NoticeThis hike is listed as One-Way. When hiking several trails on a single "hike", log it with a generic name that describes the hike. Then link the trails traveled, check out the example. |
