prayer and a hike Placerville was a mining settlement along the Rapid Creek in the Blackhills. On the way to the trailhead pay attention on the left to a historic sawmill that produced lumber for this settlement. A church camp is at the road's end but continues another quarter mile to the trailhead. The trail follows Rapid Creek in both directions where old stone walls and random diggings can be observed. Dramatic slate rock cliffs line the trail at points.
One-Way NoticeThis hike is listed as One-Way. When hiking several trails on a single "hike", log it with a generic name that describes the hike. Then link the trails traveled, check out the example. |
