Talking to a Park Ranger a few days previous in the southern region, she recommended this location to watch sunrise.

She was right on 2 of 3. Our wind was from the west.

Dress warmly. It will be cold and windy.

Get your reservations early to be allowed to access the park prior between 3am - 6am. It's only $1.00 for the reservation, but it's not an easy one to get. You'll also need your NP pass or pay your $30.00 NP fee.
