Struggled Sortie
by pseudalpine

This grouping of massive granite boulders is located below and west of Sajino Losa. The routes are merely numbered corresponding to each boulder. Reference the Sajino Losa Official Route for easier and quicker access, where one directly hikes through this granite jumble on that approach.

There are artifacts amongst the largest conglomeration that some unappreciative jerks have already molested since my first visit here (the metate has since been broken into pieces). Nevertheless, an otherworldly undertone still permeates this discernable cultural locale. It would be respectful and wise to avoid adding boulder problems or routes to this main heap. Like many other areas, the Woodbury conflagration swept through this solemn site, charring and marring most of the vegetation. The resilient chaparral is slowly reestablishing itself, but many of the previously stately One-seed Juniper trees are unfortunately dead. This ethereal area won’t be as it once was, at least, not in my brief existence.

Blitz One, Second Push and Third Reinforcement are separate, not quite as significant boulders located away from the obvious main archaeological area. Conscious effort was wholly considered in minimalizing and camouflaging the scant fixed protection on the few established routes. As it should be, this place is special to me and likely to other discerning archeos who've already visited before.

    To Upper Horrell Trailhead
From SR 188 turn off onto 449 (also called J-B) just past milepost 235 Follow 449 about two miles to the junction with Cross P Ranch. FR449A is located through the white fence to the left of the Ranch. FR449A is said to be possibly used by high clearance vehicles. I wouldn't recommend. There are some deep sections of sand as well as a couple creek crossings. This is no place to get stuck, no cell phone signal and a long day hike back to SR88. Follow FR449A about six miles to the Upper Horrell(Campaign) Trailhead parking. Along FR449A notice the awesome slot canyon passed along the way.

    From PHX (I-10 & AZ-51) 112 mi - about 2 hours 25 mins
