Interesting sandstone hills covered with rock and boulders to scramble on. The Clam Shell feature is at the top of the third hill. There is quite a few well weathered petroglyphs and a few pictographs in and around this location which appear to be from the Basketmaker era.

    To hike
    Fredonia, Arizona turn off Highway 89 A onto Cowboy Drive right by the weigh station. Then follow a dirt road adjacent to the Utah/Arizona border. The road continues for about three miles.
