Hike
The Preserve contains 20 miles of hiking trails on mostly old cattle ranch and logging roads, with the signature Sea to Sky Trail reaching the 2200-foot summit of Pole Mountain. The hike begins in open coastal prairie and expanding views of the Pacific Ocean then drops down into the forested Russian Gulch before the final climb to the summit. Optional routes exist on the return to the trailhead.

Depending on the season, sunshine, rain, fog, and ocean breezes are possible. Poison oak, ticks, and rattlesnakes may also be encountered.
