I said Sturgeon not Surgeon by The_Eagle ![]() The Sturgeon Bay Trail in Wilderness State Park, Michigan, is a relatively easy 3.6-mile trail. It takes you through a mix of dense forests, streams, and marshland.
The trail starts at the Sturgeon Bay Trailhead and quickly leads you into a lush forest filled with towering pines and hardwoods. As you walk, you’ll notice the peacefulness of the surroundings. The terrain is mostly flat but can be muddy and uneven in some areas, which adds a bit of a challenge. The trail is considered moderate in difficulty. At about the 2-mile point, the trail will intersect and follow the North Country Trail. At this trail's end, it intersects the Swamp Line Trail. Continue to form a longer 10-mile loop, or return the way you came.
This hike is ideal for those who love nature, history, and a bit of adventure. Check out the Official Route and Triplog.
