Many "old timers" believe this old ranch site was an early Way Station (more modern - "stage stop") serving the wagon road from Rimrock up the creek to a fork in the road that led to Red Rock (Sedona), Beaver Head Flat and on to Oak Creek (Cornville) and one fork led up over the rim to Stoneman Lake and on east.
