A multi-use, 22.5 mile long trail wandering through mixed pine forest and oak/chapparal via singletrack and dirt roads in the Sierra Nevada foothills at 3000' - 4000' elevation. Mountain biking, horseback riding and dogs on leash are also allowed. The area is semi-rural, providing multiple trail access points and loop options. Trails are mostly smooth dirt with relatively few rocky sections over constantly rolling terrain, including several 500+ foot ascents/descents with well built switchbacks on steep sections. There are 100 signposts along the route marking all trail junctions, many also providing directions and other information. Winters will be cold and often muddy with rain and some snow, summer afternoons will be hot but tolerable since much of the route is in shaded forest.
One-Way NoticeThis hike is listed as One-Way. When hiking several trails on a single "hike", log it with a generic name that describes the hike. Then link the trails traveled, check out the example. |
