Bridal Veil Falls: Unveiled! by keepmoving Overview Bridal Veil Falls is a double tiered waterfall located just off the Historic Columbia River Hwy not far outside of Portland. While you can glimpse the top of the waterfall from the roadway, a short stroll to the base of the falls is required to appreciate their full beauty. Hike From the parking lot, head east past the restrooms and follow the paved path as it winds its way through the trees. The trail will parallel the road shortly before it begins to curve and work its way down the hillside towards the base of the falls. The trail descends quickly and soon you will encounter a small foot bridge over Bridal Veil Creek that affords you your first real view of the lower falls. In order to see both tiers of the falls, follow the trail over the bridge and head upstream to the small viewing platform located above the pool at the base of the falls. Warning Watch for ice on the trail if you choose to do this hike during the winter months. Several small springs release water onto the trail in the steeper sections and create thick layers of incredibly slippery ice. Check out the Official Route and Triplogs.
