Re: Supes Backpack over NY
Hi all! I think I know the answer to this but I'm heading out to the sups from Colorado for President's Day and I'm hoping to find water somewhere other than Charlebois. Does anyone know if there was enough of a dump over new year's to keep some water flowing out there?

Current Water Conditions in Superstitions
Alright all, this may be the stupid question of the century, so please forgive me. I am returning to AZ 15 months after moving away to backpack the sups. Based on what I have seen in some of the posts and the weather this season I am assuming there is plenty of water running out there in the western...

USGS Map Availability
Alright, I am in the midst of a personal crisis now that USGS maps have been discontinued at REI, World of Maps, and even the State Trust Land Department has stopped ordering new maps (they still have an ample supply available). I understand there is some great topo software out there, but I am not ...

I spoke to the ranger's office a couple weeks ago and it doesn't sound like a good time to go. The first issue is that the trail through there is actually closed. I guess SRP is giving back some land, and there is construction going on to remove equipment. I'm not sure of the specifics, but the lady...

Weaver's Needle non-technical summit
This is my second post in the same night - sorry. I have been getting some mixed reports on the feasibilty of the East route up Weaver's Needle for those of us who are inexperienced. Some reports have told me that it is simply a scramble with relatively little exposure, and others have told me that ...

Superstition Segment Mileage - info needed
After planning a custom superstition loop backpacking trip, I have come to the conclusion that there is not enough straight-foward mileage information for the different segments of the trails in the sups. I may be missing a great resource that is out there, but between my three major resources (Hike...

In response to theneuhauser's reply: I did some camping out in the Chiricahuas a couple years ago in the September/October time frame. We stayed in Tombstone the first night and really didn't plan ahead to find places to camp. Don't do this. The closest thing they have to a campground are three RV ...
