Hi all! Hugh and I (Robin) finished our rim-to-rim-to-rim hike last week. We started down S Kaibab Wednesday AM, camped at BA. We had a great "easier" day on Thursday hiking to Cottonwood for our next bag night. Friday we hiked out the north rim via N Kaibab. Wooo Hooo, what a monster this...

My husband and I have been planning a rim-to-rim-to-rim for a year now. However, we don't have any place to be in a big hurry, so, we're taking a week to do it. South Kaibab to Phantom campground, to Cottonwood, North rim for 2 nights, Cottonwood, Phantom, then out via Bright Angel. We're doing this...

We have a 5 yearold Bassett Hound named Benson. He's a city boy. He will go on some shorter hikes, but, is not super thrill with camping. His idea of a goodtime is sleeping on his soft pillow, having his doggie treats, and taking RIDES in the jeep.

We're headed up to Reno/Lake Tahoe for the 50th Anniversary of the Jeepers Jamboree. We will have some free time to hike into the wilderness inbetween 4x4 runs. After the 4x4 event we're sticking around for Hot August Nights. Looking forward to some cooler temps, even if it maybe only 10 degrees :)

We've encountered bears 4 times, but never in AZ. Once in Gila Wilderness, Olympic National Park, and brief sightings in VA & WY. I wonder what prompted the bear to attack the tent of these two fellas? Do you think they may have slept in food smelly clothes? I think they were fishing also. Maybe...
