During the closure, National Park Service crews performed stabilization work. Federal Highway Administration (?) engineer Hugo First deemed the bridge safe for pedestrian use after the work was completed.

I was there over Independence weekend and saw some rigs your size camped adjacent the roadway in the lower sections. The higher you go the more scarce level ground is. (Imagine that...)

Agreed. Monetizing a commodity is the easy part... it gets tricky to do so when 'enjoyment', 'solitude', etc. need to have a $$ value assigned. And who PAYS?

ElizaKurt, I fixed the subject spelling :) I blame the nuns that taught me spelling in grade school ...also my Mom was a NYT crossword puzzler - so I was doomed to recognize even slight misspellings.. even mine. Kind of like some of the censors that patrol this forum... they cannot help themselves.
