Sedona Hike Recommendations

Hello Everybody, I'm looking for suggestions for a good, moderate hike in the 5-10 mile range up in red rock country. I'll be taking my dad who's 61 so we're looking for something that's not too much of a butt-kicker. No offense to those of you over 60 but dad's from the midwest and doesn't get to d...

Check out the Reavis Ranch hike in the Superstitions. 4 days would be kind of long for only that hike but there are plenty of side-trips you can make from the ranch area. Circlestone and Reavis Falls are a couple that I know of. That said, before you make the trip, do your best to find out if Reavis...

There's a clearing with a campfire ring. You should be able to easily find this on the topo for the area. From t...

meadow canyon

The route from Meadow is the most technical descent into W. Clear that I know of. It involves 2 rappells: an 80' and 40' then a chute that is steep but doesn't require a rope, although some folks feel more comfortable with a handline down the chute. If that's the case, there's a good tree to anchor ...

camping for humphries

Couple of ideas: I've actually camped in the parking lot at the trailhead a couple of times. I don't believe there are any regulations against it. There are usually a few groups camping out. This isn't, however, a place where you can make a fire and have a true camping experience. It's more like, la...

West Clear Creek H20 Levels

Howdy, I'm considering a trip to W. Clear Creek in a couple of weeks. We'd be descending via Meadow Canyon then heading east at the confluence w/ W. Clear Creek. Through the white boxes then exiting up the hill to Cash Tank. I've done this trip many times and water levels have always been good but i...
