Anyone got advice about hiking Canyonlands-Needles-Elephant Canyon etc. after a big rain ? Problems with heavy mud, mosquitos, impassable areas, or better because more water accessible on the trail ? Thanks !

Planning on overnight stay at Phantom Ranch, and then hike out North Rim early morning in one day. This upcoming weekend (Aug.15/16). If start at 5:30 am is hike out to trail head by 3:00 pm "doable" ? What about heat as one ascends the north kaibab trail ? Thanks. Sanecat
