Besides, no one reads blogs except your mother. Your friends just say they read your blog. They're lying.

Re: Social Media Promoting Our "Hidden" Hikes

@SpiderLegs

Seriously? It was any of their business how you hiked?
I only know a few real names. Didn't know so many were on there.

Re: Social Media Promoting Our "Hidden" Hikes

Why did this page pop up a year later with no new posts? There is a particular social media page where I often see Jason, Tewa and others. I like those guys, but I find that page to be annoying in the extreme, I don't like it at all, but habitually look at it anyway. I would never post my photos the...

Re: Buyer beware: Wolf MTN Gear

@chumley This is generally true, but I do know one of the buyers. One of the things that she pointed out is that most hikers are pretty trusting of some of these little cottage industries, knowing that stuff may take a while to be sewn and shipped. But from what I hear from her, this outfit needs t...

Re: Mindless weather chit chat

Life is good here in Needles. No one believes me or comes here to investigate my claims of the Greatness of Life in Needles, but that's a good thing.

Buyer beware: Wolf MTN Gear

Buyer beware: There are warnings up all over social media and backpacking forums about this company not fulfilling its orders. https://wolfmtngear.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; The guy claims also he has rectified the problems, but he still has not filled my friend's order from...

Re: Packrafting trips in January

@Bendboater
Let me know if you are near Needles, CA, maybe I can be of some help. I work for an outfitter who would rent you a boat and would also provide a shuttle. I'll be up and down the river a lot all winter in my kayak and on foot, from Lake Mead to Yuma.

Re: Stacey Kozel PCT hiker controversy

I've been following this on social media, on a women's AT page. Needless to say, people are indignant, disappointed, angry, and also just puzzled: why would she go to these lengths to deceive, and think she wouldn't be found out?

Re: Packrafting trips in January

@Bendboater I guess you could hike into Black Canyon (just below Hoover Dam) from quite a few places (I'm sure there are even technical routes into it) and then packraft to a camping beach. Eventually you'd paddle to Willow Beach where you can leave a car. Non tech routes into it are very, very pop...

Re: Ideas needed for glamping trip

The best campground bathrooms I've ever seen are at Catalina State Park in Tucson. Shiny tile floors and walls, great showers, etc. Gorgeous views from camp, too, and right close to shopping! But truly great bathrooms. I camped in a tent there during my brother's wedding festivities, and was easily ...

Re: Red Mountain lookout, Patagonias

@swingdance I'm an advocate of paper maps. If you don't already have one, there is a Forest Service map available for that ranger district, which is very helpful in finding your way around all the various roads. If it's not private property I would guess you can park wherever there's a wide spot in...
