Re: Flagstaff RD to discuss camping ban
Camping restriction or not people will still start fires. How about more official campsites with host? Seems to be in demand. Just a thought.

Re: Missing hiker in the Mazatzals
Seeing how I met him on the trail the day he got lost I can chime in and say there was about a zero percent chance he would make it out on time. Very nice guy though.

He was a little over 2 miles in from Mormon Grove Trailhead Parking area. About .25 mile north of Potato Patch. Talked with Search and Rescue this morning.

I believe I met him yesterday on the trail. I have called Gila County Sheriff and gave them the info I had. Seems like a great guy. Praying for the best.

I almost always hike and camp with a dog or dogs. Never had a bear problem even though I know they have been in the area. I also take pepper spray as added precaution.

Re: do wildfires cause springs to dry up
I hiked to Hopi Spring just a year after the Willow Fire in the Mazatzals. The area was nearly moonscape but the spring still flowing in late June but the water was undrinkable. Casterson Seep seemed unaffected by the fire.

@Ampaz
Most campgrounds are closed this time of year but the private campground in Payson maybe open. Sedona, Prescott, Globe, Tucson, county campgrounds, Maricopa County Campgrounds, Lake Havasu area.

@LARichardson73
Bear Spring, Barnhardt Canyon, Deer Creek and Horse Camp Seep tend to be reliable in the Mazatzals but by Novevember temps may be in the 20's overnight.
