Horton Creek fees?
I am getting conflicting info today. Is the trailhead parking for Horton Creek a fee area? Are fees just for campground parking? Is the day use / picnic area a fee based parking lot. I need up to date info. Thanks

Exactly. FYI..the place does look a lot cleaner. I find less garbage left from others that I pack out on my hike / fishing trips.

Beaver Creek overnight camping ban indefinite
Per an email I recieved from the USFS Red Rock Ranger District..the ovenight camping / campfire ban is going to be permanent...please get the word out: I think we are going with the "until recinded" and likely we will include this in our new forest plan direction so it will be permanent. J...

Re: Fossil Creek in Az Republic
Response to email that I sent Coconino Forest office today: Hi Jim and thanks for your questions. I'll try to answer: We have essentially a zero tolerance policy when it comes to fires within our Fossil Closure area. It is well signed and there is no reason why someone would not know about it. As fo...

Re: Fossil Creek in Az Republic
I feel that it is time to FULLY enforce the regulations. That means: TOW all of the illegally parked vehicles. MAX FINE for campsites and campfires inside the forest order boundary. ARREST anyone who gets combative over the issue. At least the word will get out. I can't believe how some people just ...

Was up there all day yesterday with no issues. I have never had a problem at that trailhead even parking overnight. I did happen upon a couple last year that had their window broken at the trailhead. A lot of publications have really spread the word about Beaver Creek ( AZ Highways, Phoenix Magazine...

Re: Beaver Creek camping ban
I would think that as the weather warms up, the USFS might be enforcing the order more often. Or it might be a budget or lack of manpower issue. I would gladly pay a permit or parking fee for use of that area.

Beaver Creek camping ban
I took a hike up there this past Saturday. It still amazes me that I can come across a large group of campers at the large pool by the Academy and tell them that there is a camping ban and I always get the same response….either “We didn’t know” or “ We have been camping here for years”…How big does ...
