Re: Any Last Words of Advice...
1. Get Cipro(Rx) for down stairs, do not use Imodium. That blocks you up, Cipro will keep things moving which is what you want. Whatever you ingested you want to keep it moving. This is a must in my kit and has saved my arse many times. 2. Get something for upper respiratory (upstairs)(Rx). I cannot...

Chris, Kyle my buddy and myself are going to hit the longer route on the way down so we can drive together. If anyone else was up for the longer trek they can jump in with us, I have room for one more, 2 if your really friendly with each other.

Dogs whizzing on packs and questionable elevation readings sounds like a party to me. I am in.
Re: Hawaii
@ azbackpackr, When I moved out here I was working for Dutch company and while meeting with them to discuss my move from NH to Az they dwelled on the part of me driving out taking 3 days. They could not believe you could drive for 3 days and still be in the same country, this was a prelude of things...
Re: Hawaii
Thanks for the feedback. Between the input here and what I have read I have learned two things: 1. Hawaii is not a place to live if hiking and climbing are your main hobbies and 2. The next time I see a Hawaiian that moves to Maine I am going to mess with them until they are forced to flee to Massac...

Re: Hawaii
Thought you were considering the East coast... Talk about climate change! :o Yeah Maine is the current destination but I am having second thoughts about returning to a place I have already lived. The nomad in me says break the cycle go someplace new. I have been considering a move as short as the F...
Hawaii
I am tossing around the idea of moving and was thinking outside the box and Hawaii has been mentioned. So that got me thinking of an ideal spot in Hawaii, some place great for hiking but close to civilization. The wife does esthetics/Spa work and I work from home so we are pretty flexible where we c...

Re: What is your Favorite sleeping pad
I just switched from a Thermarest guide light to a neo air last summer and I like it alot. Packs down small and is very light, plus it is the most comfortable pad I have slept on to date.

The McKellips TH looks like a winner. I am not familiar with Jacobs Crosscut, if it is closer then we can use it vs. McKellips.

EMS Day Pack $50.00
I have a very lightly used Eastern Mountain Sports Day pack for sale. Not sure the model but I do know it is a 2007-2008 model. Not sure the size either but I am 5'9" and it is just a little too short for me but the waist belt fits fine and I have a 36 inch waist. The pack is copper in color wi...
