So glad that I was able to finally backpack the whole Crest trail last year. We made it to Hummingbird Saddle a bunch of times (great place) but hail, thunder and lightning turned us back early on previous trips. The road to the McKellips TH seems to be improving each time I go. Seems like the car eating "baby head rocks" are slowly being cleared. Seen a number of low clearance cars (i.e. Honda Fit) parked at the gate. I still park in the NW corner of the Mining Camp parking lot, it seems like they...

We went to the Arizona state land department at 1616 w adams, Phoenix for a recreational use permit, just in case. Individual was $15 and family was $20, its good for 1 year. Made copies for the vehicles and packs.

I know that this website is about Arizona but I think all would be impressed at the photo's of this world record grizzly. The bad thing is the bear is dead, the hunter had to put it down after it decided to make a snack out of him. Good thing for the hunter since the remains of 2 mostly eaten people...
