Please excuse my ignorance, but this means all of the cabin loop (excluding FR95 @ bear canyon) is open again then, correct?

Re: Coldwater Fire - Mogollon Rim Ranger District

All the forest roads on the east side of Highway 87 were blocked or posted "keep out", but all the roads on the west side looked to be open. The Rim Road (FR300) is not presently closed for driving access, correct? MRRD Press Release UPDATES (copied/pasted segments) at 6/9/19: Current closures: Non...

nonot is correct! I should have asked what a "16' canvas bell" was. I was thinking a big family tent! :)

Re: Snake Gaiters -worth it?

OK, reporting back! I got gaiters for like $50 and they're no problem at all to wear -at least for me. I cinch them over my boots at the bottom and keep them loose at the top. That's it. I wonder what the snake strike deterrent difference is between a $50.00 pair and Oregon_Hiker's recommend $150.+...

Re: Cabin Loop

@elleryjk Honestly, in my opinion, some sections of the Cabin Loop Trails https://hikearizona.com/decoder.php?ZTN=797 can be difficult to follow. I use to think the Barbershop Trail and the U-Bar Trail were the worse. As a first time hiker on these trails, having the ability to download into your S...

Re: Annoying Garmin problem

Anyway it's one of the reasons I like to keep more than the minimum in my GPS memory. Me too for the same reasons. Right now on my Oregon 600 I have 30 hiking tracks in my internal memory storage (Favorites) and more than 30 in my Oregon 600 Archived internal storage with hundreds of waypoints from...

Re: Superstition Wilderness Pic (Where?)

It seems pretty obvious to me that the artist wasn't trying to pass this off as real. Agreed! As it turns out, this purchased print did not have a scene title on it. It only had the photographer's name on the back. It was for sale in the Superstition Wilderness Museum (in AJ?) and because of this, ...

Re: Annoying Garmin problem

I used to go through Basecamp til a few HAZ people convinced me that was dumb, and I've since had a couple hundred successes just doing the direct file transfer. Plus as I recall, some of the times this glitch happened before, I was going through Basecamp. Some time ago I do recall that HAZ forum d...
