I think it is important to remind people what to do if they get lost. First thing is STOP MOVING. Take some time, figure out where you are and contemplate your options thoughtfully and carefully. I thought that they had one type of altimeter or the other or none at all.

I just got my info from the garmin website
the product comparison page lists all the outdoor series handhelds as having barometric altimeters
so who knows, but, I know some people were having confusion and questions
maybe that helps, maybe that adds to it
