I learned the roll about two years ago. It took me forever to learn it. It's kinda slow going because every time you mess up you have to bail out of the kayak, empty the water out, get back in, and try again. I'm looking for a good shakedown hike, near Phoenix, that's between 8-12 miles. I'm looking for something easy to moderate, where I can hike in, camp overnight, and hike back (or a loop). Let me know what it'll be like and I'll prepare. I hiked the trail at lost dutchman state park up to the very top and down in 4 hours.

I'd love to do Peter's Trail... Anyone plan on hiking it soon?
