N Kaibab 7/8-7/11
I was going to be going down that trail on those days half to see the canyon and half to fish Bright Angel Creek. I figured I'd see if anyone, on such short, notice wanted to join me going down as those dates hardly seem to be booking at all. Gonna do rim-cottonwood campground-bright angel campgroun...

I heard about this on NPR yesterday. I was pretty pissed.
And I have to agree on those sniper comments. If only video game sniper experience counted for something sitting behind a real M24

Well considering I'm still learning I like to get all the practice I can and this is going to be with a bunch of members of the AZ Fly and Tie forums so I will have people much better than me to glean alot from
Damnit I haven't even caught a fish on a fly rod yet.

Well this is lovely......I just found out that the GDC (Game Developers Conference) happens this exact same weekend :? It's kind of one of the biggest opportunities I have for making industry connections for when I graduate in another 2 1/2 months. Still not sure but I'm really leaning towards makin...

They were doomed from the time the first whites came in and started changing the way things had been for thousands of years. Nothing new to see here, keep moving along folks. If you want to get on that subject it's not like the rest of the human race isn't contributing their fair share towards the ...

Well there are plenty of 40s nights out in the supes this time of year.....perfect time to start the acclimatization :D Edit: It appears my memory was faulty on that. I just went and looked at the triplog for last year and it was 22 that night. Still rather cold and was the coldest I've done yet. I ...

Re: Grand Gulch 2010
I suppose it is possible to be below the mid teens, but it'll hopefully be warmer than that. Even when we got snowed on it wasn't in the teens, only (IIRC) high 20s. Right now, I'm sure it is at least that cold though. Brrr! Actually if I remember correctly when we got snowed on the low that night ...

I just kayaked the lower salt yesterday and the storms probably cleared out alot of trash from the goldfields. It was insane, the area between the bush hwy bridge and the last tuber pull in was like looking at a city block with all their clothes hung out to dry

Taking peralta to freemont saddle and the view of Weaver's Needle is a nice moderate dayhike. If you think you can do the mileage you can even make a loop out of it as well.

Re: overnight parking in the Superstitions
What you may not be used to is the catclaw and that fact that AZ trails are not generally obvious dirt paths like they are in other parts of the country, they are generally the rocks in the path of least resistance through the shrubbery. This is probably the biggest reason many people get lost out ...
